How far apart are the Wilderness Cabins? I’m thinking about getting 2 cabins to accommodate my traveling party. Also are pets allowed in the cabins?

Hello and welcome to planDisney, Shelly. Thanks for stopping by with your planning questions!

I am a big fan of the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. In fact, my family and I stay in one every year for Christmas. I personally love the full working kitchen. It's nice to be able to have some snacks and drinks on hand, especially while hanging out at The Fort.  The cabins are situated in loops at the campground and are relatively close to each other. You certainly aren't right on top of each other so there is some privacy but I would say that each cabin is about 20 steps from each other door to door. If you do an internet search for the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness resort and go to images, you should see some photos of the cabins in the loops and you can see how close they are that way. There are some great visuals.

You are allowed to have up to 2 dogs in each of the cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. However, not all of the cabins are pet friendly. The best way to guarantee a pet-friendly spot would be to call 407-939-7539 when making your resort reservations. They'll be able to check and see if there are dog-friendly cabins available for your travel dates and then the Cast Member can also book it for you if you are ready to do so.

If you end up bringing your dogs with you, Shelly, there are a few guidelines to follow. Things like keeping your dog on a leash at all times while outside, picking up after your pooch and making sure they are up to date on all of their vaccines are on the list. I'm going to link it for you here so you can familiarize yourself with it. It also shows you a map of the campground and where the dog park and pet relief areas are.

I hope this helps with your decision on where to stay for your  Walt Disney World vacation. If you have any other questions about this, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Happy camping!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
