    How far ahead do they let you know when the magical hours are going to be?

    Hi Christine!

     You can check the Calendar on the Disney site to see park hours, including Extra Magic Hours. Usually, you can see the schedule for the 6 months ahead. I'm including the links to the four theme parks for easier navigation to the site, just be sure to click on the "Calendar" tab on the left menu, and toggle through the month view right above the calendar to see the dates for your visit. Hope this helps!
