Hiya, Denise! It’s great to see a fellow New Yorker here on planDisney!
I'm so glad to hear you are thinking about booking a Walt Disney World Resort vacation! There is nothing quite like the thrill of planning a vacation, is there? Speaking of thrills, did you know that an exciting new attraction is coming to EPCOT this summer? Set to be one of the longest indoor roller coasters in the world, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind will be a wild intergalactic race through the cosmos. I cannot wait to hop on board this thrilling ride, so I do hope it will be open ahead of your visit this August! If it is, will you accept the call and help The Guardians of the Galaxy crew save the universe?!
Whether you’re a thrill-seeker like me and want to pack is as many rides as possible, or if you like to keep it low-key with more relaxing attractions like "it's a small world," adding Disney Genie+ is a fabulous idea! Having Genie+ helps you spend less time in lines and more time having fun! So, let’s talk about how to add Genie+ to your ticket. You can add Genie+ to your tickets as soon as they are linked to your My Disney Experience account. Once you’re all linked up, you can add Genie+ to your tickets by following these steps:
- Start by logging into your My Disney Experience account from the Walt Disney World website.
- Then, select “My Plans” from the drop-down menu by hovering over the My Disney Experience logo in the upper right corner.
- Scroll down to “My Reservations and Tickets” and toggle over to “Tickets and Memory Maker,” where you will find all of your theme park tickets.
- Under this section is a “Change Ticket” button. Click on this, and select the ticket you would like to change.
- You will then be asked what you would like to change, and simply select “Add Disney Genie+,” and you are all set!
Pretty easy, right, Denise? Now, if you’re staying as a Guest of a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you will be able to make your Lightning Lane selections starting at 7 a.m. on each day of your visit, so don’t forget to set an alarm, so you’re ready to go. I’ll be honest; I’m NOT a morning person, and on my recent visit, I overslept and almost missed the 7 a.m. mark. So, I’ll definitely be making sure I have MULTIPLE alarms set in the future! If you’re staying elsewhere, you can start making your selections when the park you plan to visit opens.
Denise, planning a Walt Disney World vacation is so much fun, but there is a lot to think about. Just know that we are here to answer any questions you may have! So, please don't hesitate to write back, and we will be happy to help you make the most of your vacation!
Happy Planning!
