Angela from WA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

How far in advance can you start a Disney payment plan? I want to go in 2026 and go for the Halloween/Christmas week change of 2 holidays.

Hi there, Angela! Thanks so much for stopping by our little corner of the magic here at planDisney.

It sounds like you're interested in booking a Disneyland Resort Vacation Package, which is a wonderful way to experience all the magic of the Happiest Place on Earth. While I can't see quite as far into the future as Madame Leota's crystal ball, I'm happy to share current information and timelines for 2023. Typically, vacation packages are released the summer prior to the year you are hoping to visit. This year, they were released in mid-August 2022 for dates in 2023. A lot can change over a year in Disney time, so I highly recommend stopping back at planDisney and keeping your EARS peeled on the Disney Parks Blog and @DISNEYLAND Instagram as you get closer to 2026 for any updated information!

Current packages include theme park tickets, hotel accommodation, and some magical savings at select dining locations around the resort. Once packages are open, you can use the Disneyland website as a guide to book your dream vacation. You'll select your dates, your preferred hotel, and theme park tickets and can even upgrade to Park Hoppers or include Genie+ as part of your package. When it comes to payment, you'll be asked to put down a deposit to hold the reservation at the time of booking with the final balance due 30 days prior to arrival. While there is no formal payment plan offered, you are welcome to make payments as often as you like toward that balance! Call it a DIY payment plan! Another great option if you are hoping to spread out those payments is to purchase Disney Gift Cards which can be used to pay off that balance!

If you're looking for options within a specific budget, I highly recommend looking at both the vacation packages for the Disneyland Resort Hotels as well as the Good Neighbor Hotels. These are hotels in the area with the Disney stamp of approval. You can book vacation packages with Good Neighbors directly on the Disneyland Resort website as well. There's truly a vacation for every budget and style!

I love the idea of having a trip that sees both the happy haunts of Halloween Time and the holly jolly of the holidays! While traditionally this change can happen overnight at the Walt Disney World Resort, the Disneyland Resort has historically had a small break between seasons. This year, Halloween Time bid adieu on October 31st while the holidays did not kick off until November 11th. While we won't know what's in store for 2026 for a few years, this is another great reason to stay up to date with the Disney Parks Blog as seasonal dates will be announced ahead of time!

Angela, I sure hope this was helpful! While I'm waiting for the magic, I like to explore the Disneyland Mobile App to see all the current happenings. There's even some fun and unexpected content in there to give you a little dose of the Mouse. Personally, I love the Disney Parks Stories where you can watch "5 Fast Facts" on some of your favorite attractions!
