Mary from 38 Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

How far in advance can I reserve our accommodations if I book outside of our home resort? Or if I book it at our home resort?

Hey there, Mary! Welcome to planDisney and Welcome Home! I'm so happy that you've stopped by with your Disney Vacation Club question. I always love chatting with a fellow Member!

Don't you just love being a Disney Vacation Club Member, Mary?! Knowing that my next magical getaway is always just around the riverbend and always having a running countdown to a Disney vacation is priceless and brings such joy to my everyday life. Being able to book these unforgettable vacations with just the click of a button is the magic of Membership! But as magical as it is, with Use Years, expiration dates and booking windows (Oh my!), it can sometimes be just as confusing. So, let's chat about when you can book your next magical adventure!

You can book a Disney Vacation Club stay at your Home Resort 11 months before your check-in date. This gives you a great advantage over other Members to book a fabulous stay in your preferred accommodations at your Home Resort, since Members without ownership interests at your Home Resort can't book until seven months prior to arrival. This also means that you can book a stay at any DVC Resort that is not your Home Resort when the booking window opens seven months before your check-in date.

I always recommend booking a stay at your Home Resort 11 months before your trip so that you can ensure that you will have accommodations for your vacation. Then, if you wish to switch to a non-Home Resort seven months before your arrival date, you can easily modify your reservation on the DVC website once your booking window opens at 8:00 a.m. EST.

Just remember, Mary, that your booking window is different than your Use Year! In my first few years of Membership, I missed a few vacation-booking window openings, because I mistakenly thought that I had to wait for my Use Year's Points to be allotted to me before I could book. Don't make the same mistakes! As long as you will have the Points by the time you travel, you can book your amazing stays as soon as your 11-month and seven-month booking windows open. If I have your March 2023 arrival date correct, you can book a stay at your Home Resort NOW! Happy booking, my friend!

Mary, I hope this was helpful, and I hope you stop by any time with any vacation planning or DVC questions you may have. I would love to help and chat Disney with you! You've got a friend in me.

I hope to see ya real soon,

    Mandy
