How far in advance do you have to make reservations after purchasing tickets?

    Hi Darlene,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for stopping by with your question about Theme Park Reservations.  Your visit to Walt Disney World Resort is coming up quickly, November will be here and you will be at the "Most Magical Place on Earth" before you know it!

Personally, I like to make my Theme Park Reservations as soon as I have chosen my dates and purchased my Theme Park Tickets to guarantee that I will be able to enter into my preferred Theme Park each day.  I like knowing that everything is all set, and there is less room for me forgetting to make the reservations, leaving potential for my preferred Theme Parks not being available.  With that being said, it is completely personal preference, you can make your Theme Park Reservations at anytime once you have purchased your Theme Park Tickets.

If your dates change and you need to switch a Theme Park Reservation, the process is quick and easy!  We are unable to modify Theme Park Reservations, so just cancel your existing reservation and then book a new Theme Park Reservation.  Before I cancel, I like to double check that there is still availability using the Theme Park Reservation Availability Calendar in my new preferred Theme Park, just in case because once a reservation is canceled there is no guarantee you will be able to book the same Theme Park, as it is based on availability.

I hope you have a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort, Darlene.  If you have any other questions, please come back and visit planDisney again, we are always happy to help.
