How far in advance can I make reservations at Fort Wilderness Campground in WDW Florida?

    Hey, Howdy, Hey, Barbara!

Welcome to the planDisney Roundup. We are so happy to have you! I can’t wait for you to experience camping at Walt Disney World Resort. It’s something my family has always wanted to do, and while I’m not the camping type, we met in the middle with a stay at The Cabins. I’m not sure which is more your style, but the cabins and the Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are available to book.

I pulled up the availability calendar, and I currently see that reservations are being accepted now through October 2026. Is that far enough in advance for you? If not, hang tight! The calendar will continue to open up little by little. If you are planning on booking for a much later trip, I can still help you prepare for that.

The biggest thing for my family when planning a Walt Disney World vacation is the budget. I’ve found that the easiest way to stick to the budget and prepare is by using Disney Gift Cards. In the years and months leading up to a big visit, I’ll begin purchasing Disney Gift Cards here and there to use towards our trip. They also come in handy for those last-minute trips in between, too. This saving option is great because it allows you to prepare for your visit, even if you are unable to book just yet.

Once you are ready to book, and if using Disney Gift Cards, call the Walt Disney World Reservations line. A Cast Member on the other line will be more than happy to book your reservation and take those gift cards over the phone to use towards your balance.

Something else to consider is, will you be renting a golf cart to use during your campground stay? If so, after booking your resort reservation, you’ll want to reserve a golf cart as well. We have ours reserved for our cabin stay, and I cannot wait. We haven’t told our kids yet, but I know they are going to be so excited!

Barbara, I hope this answers your question so that you can get back to planning. Please stop by again if you have any other planning questions we can help with.

Have a great visit and just know, you’ve got a friend in me.

Hi ya Pals! I'm Shantel, an Army wife and mom of two. I grew up going to the parks, and now we're sharing that tradition with our kids. When I am not visiting the Walt Disney World Resort, I'm at home researching and planning for our next trip. One of my favorite things to do is search for new snacks to try, especially if they are Mickey shaped. I'm definitely living the dream my heart wished for! I cannot wait to answer your questions and help make your vacation even more magical!
