Aloha Matthew, and welcome to planDisney!
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort features everything I love about the Disney Resorts Collection. From the immersive theming and detailed storytelling to the comfortable elegance and convenient location, it is one of my favorite places to stay on a Walt Disney World vacation. The resort has also been recently renovated and many Guests are anxious to return to this tropical hideaway just a quick monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom Park. It's always a popular choice, but I anticipate even more demand for one of the original Walt Disney World Resort Hotels as the
50th-anniversary celebration continues throughout 2022.
President's Day week is a busy travel period, especially for families with school-age children. Because room-only reservations and
vacation packages can be made over a year in advance, I'm not surprised to hear availability is limited during your travel dates. Hakuna Matata, Matthew! I think you still have a good chance of making your vacation dreams come true. I recommend booking your trip at another resort, and checking back every so often to see if you can switch your stay to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Once your reservation is in
My Disney Experience, you can revisit it in the My Plans section and click the "Change Reservation" at any time. Be sure to review the cancelation policy when booking to avoid any extra fees.
If you're looking to stay along the monorail,
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a great alternative, and it's within walking distance to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. You'd be just a short stroll away from restaurants like
'Ohana and
Kona Café. If it's palm trees and seaside vibes you enjoy, consider reserving a room at
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Here you'd also enjoy the convenience (and fun!) of the
Disney Skyliner.
Disney's Old Key West Resort is another island-themed locale, and
the one-bedroom villas here are comparable in price to the standard rooms at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, but offer twice the space and some extra amenities like in-room laundry and full kitchens.
Wherever you end up, you're in for a wonderful getaway in the middle of the magic when you stay in the Disney Resorts Collection. As a fellow northerner, I love to visit sunny Florida when Elsa is making things especially chilly at home. Best wishes as you continue planning your trip, and if there's anything else we can do, don't hesitate to reach out again.
Mahalo!
