How far in advance can I purchase my annual pass voucher prior to activation? We have a trip planned for July 2017. Also, how does it work if the annual pass prices change after I purchase, will I be required pay the difference upon activation?

    Hi Holly,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question!

The way that Walt Disney World Resort Annual Passes work is that they’re only activated when you first use them to enter a Walt Disney World Resort Theme Park. What this means is that you can definitely purchase your Annual Pass now (and even make your FastPass+ selections when your selection window opens up at 30 or 60 days prior to your arrival) and then activate it the day you arrive. What that means is that your expiry date will be exactly a year after the day you first enter a Theme Park with it.

I’ve got some good news for you: if you purchase an Annual Pass now, you’ve “locked in” that price for yourself. This means that you won’t have to pay the difference in price, if any, between the day that you purchased it and the day that it’s activated. I’ve done that several times and I’ve always been thrilled at that little bit of extra pixie dust!

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions about your July 2017 trip.

    Have a Magical Day,
