How far in advance can I plan my rides with Genie plus?

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

With the new Genie+ program, just like with the Individual Lightning Lanes, ride selection occurs just on the actual day you are in the parks. What I love about this is that it brings back a bit of the spontaneity of a day in the parks, and you don't have to worry months beforehand what you think you might want to do that day!

Of course it is a great idea to plan out those attractions that are on the top of your bucket list for each park ahead of time. You will find on the Genie+ page the list of all the attractions, by park, that are either in the Genie+ Lightning Lane program, of the Individual Lightning Lane program.

But specific to your question, if you are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel you can make an Individual Lightning Lane purchase starting at 7 am the day of your visit, while other guests can start ordering when the park opens. As for Genie+ selections, anyone can start making those at 7 am, regardless of where they are staying.

From time-to-time Disney will change the status of an attraction, so keep an eye out for these changes as your vacation dates near. For example, they have been known to move an attraction from the Individual Lightning Lane program to the Genie+ Lightning Lane program for a specified range of dates. This can impact how you plan that day and may save you some money as well!

Write me back if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
