How far in advance do we need to book Kids Club reservations?

Ahoy, Molly! Welcome to planDisney and planning for your Disney Cruise Line adventure at sea! With your cruise so close on the horizon, I'm glad you are making sure you have all the information you need.

Disney's Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab offer children ages 3 through 10 a playspace designed just for them. The environments, activities and counselors inspire creativity, exploration and fun! A few Disney characters have also been known to stop by on occasion. For your child to participate, you will need to register them, but you do not need to reserve times for them to attend.

You can pre-register them on the Disney Cruise Line site before your cruise or register at Oceaneer's Club or Lab when you board the ship. You and your child will need to go to Oceaneer's Club to pick up a wristband (much like a MagicBand but exclusive to youth and the youth centers on the ship). If you have not pre-registered, the counselors will help you complete the paperwork and get all set up for your child to enjoy the Clubs throughout the cruise.

Reservations for supervised areas for children are only required in "it's a small world" nursery, available for children ages six months to three years.

After you have paid for your cruise and your booking window opens - date based on your Castaway Club level - you can reserve and see the pricing for Onboard Activities and Port Adventures. You do not have to wait until your reservation window opens to see all that is available on your cruise. You can easily sort by ship and experience type and start exploring. One of my favorites with my kids is the virtual sports simulator on Goofy's Sports Deck, available on the Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream. We had cruised a few times before we discovered this gem, and now we make sure to reserve a spot each cruise to play soccer and other sports with a virtual Goofy.

Once onboard, the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App will show you when special events and activities are happening in the Clubs (and all over the ship). You can click on the heart by an activity you do not want to miss, and the app will send you reminders when it is about to start.

If you have any other questions as your cruise gets closer and new questions emerge, planDisney is here for you. Just swim back by and let us know what information, tips or advice you need.

    Happy Cruising!
