How far in advance can I make dinner reservations if I am staying on the property?

Hi there, Sherry. I'm so glad you've stopped by planDisney with your question. Disney dining is one of my favorite things to talk about. There are so many great options to choose from.

Currently, Sherry, you can make your dining reservations 60 days prior to the check-in day of your vacation. You'll also be able to book for your entire vacation up to 10 days. The advance dining reservations system opens up online at 6:00 a.m. Mickey Mouse's time. You can also call (407) WDW-DINE starting at 7:00 a.m. If you are planning to make a dining reservation in one of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks, I wanted to mention that standard theme park admission is required. On top of that, you'll want to try to coordinate your reservations inside of the Walt Disney World Theme Parks with the park pass reservations that you are planning on making. Park hopping over to the restaurant is an option but park hopping does not start until 2:00 p.m. so that might not work out depending on the time of the reservation.

Right now, I am making a lot of my dining reservations at Disney Springs because it does not require a park pass reservation to go and enjoy. Also, Disney Springs is just so fun and offers a wide variety of dining options. If you can, I highly suggest making a dinner reservation at The BOATHOUSE restaurant located on the lake at Disney Springs. It is my very favorite restaurant. In fact, I've been known to make the 8-hour drive just because a dining reservation opened up. Yes, it is that good. My go-to order right now is the lobster roll served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries. It's a fabulous meal and now I'm so hungry for it! Another great restaurant over there is Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'. It serves up some of the best southern food around, and I should know since I'm from North Carolina. If you've never been there before, I recommend giving the chicken and donuts a try. It's a really unique twist on classic flavors and I've never met anyone who didn't enjoy it.

Sherry, I hope you are able to reserve everything you are hoping for on your next Walt Disney World vacation. If you have any other questions before you go, please come back and ask me. I'm here to help.

    Enjoy!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
