How far in advance can you check rates and availability. We are wanting to plan a trip for January 2025.

    Welcome to planDisney, Kathryn!

You can never be too early to plan a Walt Disney World Resort vacation. Anything to avoid being like the White Rabbit! “I’m late, I’m late for a very important date!” So, let’s talk about what you can do to prepare for your Most Magical trip.

Historically, Walt Disney World Resort vacation packages and Disney Resorts Collection hotel room-only reservations open to us Guests in the late spring or early summer of the preceding year. For example, last year in 2023, the 2024 dates were released on May 31, 2023. And that date was announced at the beginning of May.

If you’d like to vacation before then, at the moment, the only dates available to book are through December 31, 2024. I highly recommend that you follow the Disney Parks Blog, so that you can know right away when you can begin making your 2025 plans official!

In the meantime, check out some of our answers and videos on the planDisney website. Our planDisney Podcast is hosted by the ah-mazing former planDisney panelist Amiyrah. She sits with current panelists to get their opinions and insights about all of the wonderful things that Disney Destinations have to offer. Also, check out the planDisney Pocket Guides, which are loaded with helpful information about the Disney Resorts Collection hotels and special events. It’s so easy to go down a rabbit hole of information!

AN EXTRA GEM: Download the My Disney Experience App if you haven’t already. It’s a super useful tool that will help you navigate the Disney Parks, make dining reservations, stalk attraction queue times (even if you’re not there!), and so much more. The more that you’re familiar with the app before your vacation, the less time you’ll spend looking at it during your vacation.

I hope that you found this answer helpful, Kathryn. You’ll be well on your way to Wonderland (what I like to call the vacation planning process) before you know it. Revisit planDisney if you have any other questions about your upcoming visit. Have a magical day!

    Magic always,
