How far in advance can you book a trip? We are looking at late 2023. If we book something that far in advance would any discounts or specials be applied?

    Hiya, JoElla!

As a fellow Buckeye, I'm happy to welcome you to planDisney and I'm so glad you stopped by with your question.  It sounds like you're a planner after my own heart –– like you, there's nothing I enjoy more than booking a Walt Disney World Resort vacation way in advance.  Not only does it give you plenty of time to dream up all the details for a magical stay, but all the anticipation makes it so much sweeter when your check-in date finally arrives. I'm so excited to hear that you're already thinking about your next visit to Walt Disney World in November 2023 –– I have a feeling that lots of pixie dust is headed your way!

Reservations at Disney Resorts Collection hotels and campgrounds can be booked up to 499 days in advance.  This means that as of today, you'll be able to reserve a room through October 27, 2023.  And here's the best part –– if a special offer or discount becomes available after you've booked your reservation, you should have the opportunity to apply it to an eligible existing reservation.  Usually, this can be done right from the Walt Disney World website through your My Disney Experience account.  All you'll need to do is locate your existing reservation under "My Plans, Reservations, and Tickets" and click "Modify Reservation".  From there, follow the onscreen prompts to apply any available offers.  If you have trouble modifying your reservation online, or you prefer to speak to a Cast Member over the phone, you can also give the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations Line a call at (407) 939-1936.  Just keep in mind that some discounts have limited availability, so I recommend going online or calling the reservation line as soon as a special offer becomes available.

Early November is one of my favorite times to visit Walt Disney World Resort –– if you ask me, there's nothing cooler than getting to watch the decorations change from spooky season to holiday season right before your eyes.  And if you're looking for a lovely way to usher in the holidays during your stay, I suggest making time to stop by Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, where there's a great chance that Cast Members will be hard at work creating their annual life-sized gingerbread house in the Resort lobby.  It's so neat to watch this process unfold, and in my experience, the Cast Members have been willing to chat with Guests and share details about all the elements that go along with building the house.  During our last visit, my kids were so inspired by watching these talented bakers that they were determined to recreate their own versions of the Grand Floridian's beautiful gingerbread house at home.  Believe me, it's the perfect way to jump-start your Holiday Spirit!

Thanks for visiting planDisney, JoElla.  If you think of new questions as you plan your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation, I hope you'll stop by again –– we're always here to help!

    Happy Planning,
