Welcome to planDisney, Jamie!
I am definitely a far-ahead planner, so when it comes to booking a vacation, I like to do so as early as possible. It's a great way to get first dibs on all the fun options!
Jamie, at this time,
Walt Disney World guests are able to make reservations for rooms around 14 months in advance. So in mid-August, I can see rooms that are able to be booked through the end of October of next year. When looking at all of your
Walt Disney World accommodation options, click on the calendar near Check-In and advance as far to future months as possible. Of course, this could change at any time, so you might log in later to find something open you did not expect to see just yet.
When I'm looking ahead to a travel date that's not yet available to book, I like to compare similar options so that I have a ballpark idea of cost, availability, proximity to parks, and resort amenities. For example, comparing the cost of a Sunday to Thursday night stay at a resort one month may be similar to the same stay a month later. Keep in mind that factors such as holidays and, of course, weekends, will impact that number, but it's a great way to get a sense of what may be available once those reservations open up. If traveling with friends or another family, this also lets us make some decisions before our booking window opens, making a faster selection once it opens even easier.
Don't forget to keep an eye on
Special Offers, too, Jamie. While these are usually available much closer to travel time than one year out, it's a great way to see what type of offers might fit into your future vacation plans, too.
As you consider all of your options for an upcoming visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, Jamie, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
