How far in advance can I book my Disney vacation. We are not planning to visit until October 2018 but want to start booking/ planning and paying for our vacation if possible.

    Hi Megan,

How awesome to know you are busy planning your Walt Disney World vacation for next year. You are not alone! I am also planning my next year's vacation. And the following year. And the next one...

Did you know you can actually make a reservation for a Disney Resort Hotel up to 500 days in advance? You cannot do it online, and instead you need to speak to a Vacation Planning Specialist at (407) 939-1936 or your Travel Agent. The prices will be subject to change once next year's rates become available, but it's a good way to reserve a specific type of room or Resort for dates you cannot move.

A great way to book is with a Magic Your Way Vacation Package. At this time, these packages for 2018 are not available, however they typically come out sometime during the spring, so it could be any day now. Keep an eye to the Disney Parks Blog for announcements.

One last tip: I like to start paying for my vacation early and a little bit at a time. A great way to do it is by purchasing Disney Gift Cards, and then use them to pay for your vacation. Sometimes you can even find them at a slight discount in places like Sam's Club or Costco. Happy planning!
