How far in advance can I book a Disney hotel? We will be bringing my elderly and handicapped parents, and I will need at least a two bed/bath room.

    Hi Michelle,

Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question about planning a multigenerational vacation to Walt Disney World in early 2027.

I love visiting the first week in January. Many of the holiday decorations are still up, but the holiday crowds have dissipated. Walt Disney World resorts are currently accepting reservations through the end of 2026. We don't know when reservations beyond that will be released, but I would expect it to be within the next month or so. The best way to find out when those reservations become available is to keep an eye on the Walt Disney World website and the Disney Parks Blog

Meanwhile, you can be thinking about which resort would best fit your needs. Some of that depends on how much time you plan to spend in the theme parks and how important proximity is to your family. You have more than a dozen options of resorts that feature deluxe villas that would accommodate your family.

I'm partial to the villas at Old Key West and at Animal Kingdom Lodge. Old Key West's laidback theming and large accommodations are wonderful for a relaxing vacation. And at the beautiful Animal Kingdom Lodge, the views of the savannah are a treat. Plus, I love all the restaurants there.

But you can't go wrong with any of the Walt Disney World resorts that offer suites and villas. They all offer the theming, guest services and amenities you expect. It's really a matter of which one best meets the needs and desires of your party.

Please let us know if you have other questions, Michelle, as the time comes to make your resort reservations and other plans for your January vacation.

    Enjoy,

    Wilma
