Hi Roxanne and welcome to planDisney!
I just love being a
Walt Disney World Passholder and a
Florida resident! Living so close to the magic gives my family the flexibility to visit as often as possible and we sure do like to take advantage of that. We will be spending lots of time at the theme parks and
water parks this summer!
Theme park reservations are currently still required when visiting a Walt Disney World theme park. The reservations calendar goes up to January of 2025 right now, but as a Passholder, you will only have access to reservations until the day your annual pass expires. In other words, you can only make a theme park reservation for the dates you have a valid ticket for. Once you renew your annual pass, the next year of availability will open up for you.
A recent change for Passholders and theme park reservations is that we can now enter the theme parks after 2:00 PM without a reservation, except for
Magic Kingdom on Saturdays and Sundays, so if you're planning on coming in the afternoon, you don't have to worry about theme park availability and can just pop over at your leisure. That's exciting news! Sometimes we like to head up in the afternoon and spend a half day playing in the parks, so not having to plan that in advance anymore is a big perk for us.
If you haven't already done so, I highly recommend adding the
PhotoPass Download Option to your annual pass. This gives you an entire annual pass year of unlimited photo downloads taken by a PhotoPass Photographer all around Walt Disney World and includes your attraction photos. I love taking advantage of PhotoPass so my entire family can be in our vacation pictures since I'm usually the one behind the camera. You can add this option to your annual pass at any time by contacting
V.I.Passholder Support.
Please
stop back by and visit if you have any additional vacation planning questions.
Have a magical day!
