Does the fantasy ship have soccer balls at goofy sports place?

Hi there, Janice! Welcome to planDisney!

I’m excited that you’re going to be sailing on board the Disney Fantasy! The Disney Fantasy feels like my Disney home-away-from-home because it’s the ship that I’ve sailed on the most. So, I’m super familiar with all the fun activities and spaces on board, including one of my favorite areas-Goofy’s Sports Deck, and I’d be happy to share what’s available with you!

Oh, the many beautiful memories I have at Goofy’s Sports Deck. Fun Fact, Janice: this is the space that made my extended family fall in love with Disney Cruise Line, once upon a time. After watching the Buccaneer Blast fireworks on Deck 11, my family and I headed to Goofy’s Sports Deck to play a late game of basketball, while the Pirate Night was still young. Shooting hoops with pirate music blaring in the background, after just watching fireworks go off in the middle of the ocean, is something that can only be done on a Disney cruise. Mid basketball-dribble, my brother-in-law turns to my husband and me and tells us that he finally understood the Disney cruise hype we’d been going on about all these years. And if you’re wondering, he did indeed make that basket and went on to book many Disney cruises with us after that!

So, obviously, there’s a basketball court at Goofy’s Sports Deck. But that’s not all! One of our other favorite spots is the Miniature Golf area. This area is a favorite of my kids, especially my youngest daughter! I know you’re asking about soccer balls, and while there isn’t a physical field to play soccer, nor any soccer balls available, you can play virtual soccer during one of the most popular activities on board-the virtual sports simulator!

The virtual sports simulator is a virtual game that lets you play soccer, basketball, football, hockey, and baseball. So while you can’t kick a physical soccer ball, you can play a virtual game of soccer, which is pretty cool! It’s also pretty popular, so I highly recommend making the reservations for that activity as soon as you’re able to, once your booking window opens. It is not included in the price of your cruise, and therefore does need to be reserved. I’ve made the reservation for my kids a few times, and I always try to do it early so that the time they’d like to visit and play is available. Please note that if you’re making the reservation for anyone under 13 years of age, they will need to be accompanied by an adult, and any Guests between 14 and 17 must be accompanied by either an adult or another guest of that age group. You can book either 30 or 60-minute sessions, and please note that pricing and availability are always subject to change.

To make the reservation, you’ll do it in the “My Plans” section on either the Disney Cruise Line website or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App. Choose the day you’d like to visit, and then click on it to see what sports and times are available. You only need to make a reservation for the virtual sports, not for basketball or miniature golf.

Janice, I hope I was able to give you lots of fun to look forward to on your cruise! I hope you score many goals of magical memories! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions.

    Bon Voyage,
