Hello! Fantasy 2-12-22 sailing. Trying to figure out what outfits we need for the different nights. Star Wars, pirate?? one formal?? Valentines night - will it be themed or a casual night? Thanks!!

Ahoy there, Larissa! Thanks for sailing our way here at planDisney!

Ah, your sailing is so close, I'm sure you are more excited than Hiro heading to a bot fight! To paraphrase Baymax, consider me your personal planning assistant! February on the Disney Fantasy - has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? You're in for a sailing with swashbuckling rogues, Star Wars characters, and all the other magic that is included in a Disney Cruise Line vacation!

I'm so glad you're planning on getting into the action and looking to pack outfits for each of the themed nights! While, I'm usually a "cruise casual at all times" kind of guy, I make an exception for cruises with special themed days - especially when it comes to Halloween on the High Seas sailings. Oh, this? That's just a costume contest trophy we won...no big deal...

Sailing back to your question, on seven-night cruises with a Star Wars Day at Sea, you and your crew can usually count on the following:

    • First night is usually cruise casual as you settle-in to your vacation
    • One pirate night
    • One Star Wars Day at Sea
    • Two additional cruise casual nights
    • One formal and one semi-formal night - both give you the opportunity to dress up and take advantage of the onboard photography services.
Of course, your participation in the themed nights and formal nights is completely optional, but it sounds like you are ready to dive in! One of the best parts of cruises with a Star Wars Day at Sea is that extra theming, decorations and activities that are available all over the ship and not just at dinner! So while you're working up an appetite evading the First Order, stormtroopers, and other remnants of the Empire, I'd consider planning a costume with layers so you don't overheat like a pod racer on Tatooine...

As far as Valentine's Day, it doesn't typically get a full menu-takeover theme night, but my guess would be either your formal or semi-formal night would be scheduled to line-up with it! Of course, that is always subject to change, so be sure to have your Disney Cruise Line Navigator app handy to check for your theme schedule as soon as you embark! Hmmm...formal night, Valentines Day...you know, that sounds like a perfect recipe for a romantic Adults-only dinner at either Palo or Remy! Or if you would like to get the most out of your formal wear, perhaps you could consider celebrating Valentine's Day on a different night, and double-up on dressing to the nines!

Whether you decide to bring outfits for each night, or end up just picking one or two to enjoy (and saving that precious suitcase space for souvenirs) you're just a few weeks away from the best vacation around! Whatever you choose, I'm sure that you're going to have a FANTASTIC time.

I hope that helps you and your crew finalize your packing list, Larissa, and thanks again for sending us your question! If you or your crew have any additional needs as your sailing gets closer, feel free to send a message in a bottle our way!

    Fair winds and following seas,
