Ahoy, Patty!
Welcome back to planDisney! It sounds like you’ve officially joined the ranks of those of us who can’t step off one Disney ship without already dreaming about the next—what Captain Jack Sparrow might call “a positively sensible addiction.”
A Very Merrytime voyage on the Fantasy followed by a spring break sailing? That’s the kind of magic even Fairy Godmother would applaud.
My family has run into this exact timing before, and you’re right—it’s the kind of “problem” that makes debarkation day feel a whole lot less gloomy when you know you have another sailing on the horizon. When it comes to booking your March activities while sailing in December, you can absolutely access the Disney Cruise Line website using the ship’s complimentary Wi-Fi. But, as I learned firsthand, there are a few quirks you’ll want to be ready for.
First, your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app will switch into “onboard mode,” which means it won’t show or allow edits to your upcoming sailing. To book those Port Adventures or
snag that Palo brunch, you’ll need to hop into your reservation using a browser.
Second, while the complimentary Wi-Fi does allow access to Disney sites, it behaves a bit like Zootopia’s Flash the Sloth on his coffee break. Pages load—but slowly. Sometimes very slowly. It can work, and I’ve personally done it, but if you’re aiming for something popular or competitive, I wouldn’t rely on the complimentary Wi-Fi alone.
For that reason, I’d recommend
purchasing at least 24 hours of internet so you can log in quickly and confidently when your booking window opens. Whether you choose the standard Internet Package ($26 per day) or the Internet + Streaming Package ($42 per day), both are eligible for up to a 20% discount if purchased within 24 hours of boarding and for the entire voyage. Since it sounds like you’re planning to unplug otherwise, a single day of faster access may be the perfect compromise so you don’t miss out on any must-dos.
I hope this helps you feel ready to capture those coveted reservations at lightspeed. May your Wi-Fi be faster than Dash, your Palo brunch dreams come true (just guessing), and your next sailing arrive sooner than Peter Pan can say “second star to the right.”
Sea ya real soon as the tides turn toward thankful hearts and joyful journeys,
Dustin
