Hi there Bill!
I love going to see Fantasmic! At first my kids weren't into the show but now they are really becoming big fans of it. Fantasmic! has a flexible schedule meaning that some days it will be performing while others it may not be... And then, sometimes there may be two shows in one night. It's always a great idea to check the Disney online calendar to see when it's going to be held during your stay. I know when we are going down for vacation this summer, there are only two days out of the whole week that it will be performing. If the show is scheduled to start at ten and the park closes at ten, that means the rides will shutdown at ten and people will start leaving the park. Since Fantasmic! is the last show, the park will typically be a little less crowded near closing time (most people will be already in the show stadium by 9:45). The show has an exit to the parking area so you would not have to go back into Hollywood Studios. Please make sure that upon arrival to the park, you check the Park Times Guide for character appearance locations, parade, and show times. Times Guides are available at the Park Entrance, Guest Relations, and most merchandise locations. I hope this helps with your planning. Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel and have a great time at the Walt Disney World Resort!!!!
