I have a Fantasmic Dessert VIP reservation. But I was thinking about canceling it b/c they say we could get wet in the seats they place us. My son has autism and this could be a problem for him. Can the DAS pass be used for Fantasmic? Thanks again!

Hi, Tanya!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I am so excited to hEAR that you are planning a Walt Disney World Resort vacation for you and your son!  I think that you will really enjoy the spectacular nighttime musical, Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  Purchasing the Fantasmic! Dessert & VIP Viewing Experience will provide you with some tasty treats, as well as a great seat for the show.

Due to the water effects used during Fantasmic!, there is a chance that audience members may get wet if seated in the first few rows of the theater.  Like you, I also have a son who has autism, so I can certainly understand why this might be a concern for you.  It would be my pleasure to help make sure that you and your son have the best possible experience while viewing Fantasmic!

There are seating sections at shows reserved for guests with mobility disabilities, but guests using Disability Access Service (DAS) are not typically seated in these reserved sections.  This is because Disability Access Service is an accommodation meant to assist guests whose disability prevents them from waiting for attractions in a typical queue environment.  In my experience using Disability Access Service for my son, it is not intended for accessing shows.

Once you check-in for the Fantasmic! Dessert & VIP Viewing Experience, I recommend speaking with a Cast Member about your concerns.  They most likely will permit you to take your desserts and move to an area of the theater where you will not need to worry about getting wet.  However, if you do decide to cancel your VIP  reservations, rest assured, there isn't a bad seat in the house.  I would still recommend attending a performance of the show, even if you decide to forgo the Fantasmic! Dessert & VIP Viewing Experience.
