Family, will be visiting in 18 days staying at POR. I am concerned about my 1 1/2 yr old waking at night and the noise bothering the other guest next to us. How sound proof are the rooms? Is it silly to ask for a room with no one staying next to us?

    Hi Kristi!

Guess what?  You will be at Disney World with THOUSANDS of other families just like you.  You are so sweet to be considerate of the guest in the room next to you, but there is a good probability that they will have a little one as well!

The great news is that all of the value and moderate resorts are actually more soundproof than the deluxe hotels!  This is due to the fact that they all open onto exterior walkways.  Disney, like all of us, wants to save money and weatherproofs these rooms more heavily.  The exterior door seals shut and the walls are usually better insulated!  We always bring a travel fan with us to drown out any noise that may seep in from other rooms.  Don't worry and enjoy your vacation!
