Hey there, Megan. Welcome to
planDisney.
It's so exciting that you are considering joining the Walt Disney World Annual Passholder family. I've been a passholder for years now and I absolutely love it! Some of my favorite things include complimentary theme park parking and discounts on food and merchandise throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.
Megan,
Walt Disney World Annual Passes expire one year from activation. Activation typically occurs when you use them to enter a Walt Disney World Theme Park for the first time. When you first link your ticket to your
MyDisneyExperience account you'll see an expiration date that reflects one year from your purchase, but just ignore that. That's actually how long you have to activate your Walt Disney World Annual Pass. But don't worry, if you don't activate it in that year's timeframe, you won't lose the value of that annual pass. You'll only need to pay the upgraded price difference if there happens to be a price rise. Once you use them for your family's visit in January, you will see a new expiration date reflected and that will be one year from that particular date.
I hope this helps break down the timeline a little bit better for you Megan. I think you'll truly enjoy being a Walt Disney World Annual Passholder. Being able to visit the theme parks multiple times throughout the year is just so magical.
If you have any other questions about this, or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help!
Have a great week!
Jackie H.
