Hi, Brandi!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for your question. I’m glad to hear that you’re planning another visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort with your family!
The moderate resort I’d recommend as the best choice for you is
Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside. This scenic property is reminiscent of the Louisiana Bayou, the perfect setting to compliment your Mardi Gras vacation! All of the rooms were renovated this past summer, including the preferred rooms in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort that now feature a bunk-size pull-down bed in addition to either a king size bed or two queen size beds. The pull-down bed is smaller than a twin size bed and best for kids age 12 and under, which might be a good option for your family so your children can have their own beds. The Royal Rooms in the Magnolia Bend section are elegantly themed and include several magical details incorporating Disney Princesses and their Princes.
Direct bus service is available to the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios, and there are also boats to Downtown Disney, which depart daily every 10-20 minutes. The resort’s River Roost Lounge has a full bar, light appetizers and live entertainment, including appearances by
Yehaa Bob Jackson, whose high-energy act is a family favorite.
I hope this information is helpful, Brandi. Please feel free to ask me other questions you may have about resort hotels or any other aspect of planning your pixie-dusted vacation!
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
