Welcome back to planDisney! I love that you’re thinking ahead and having a backup plan ready, just in case your passports decide to move at the speed of Flash from Zootopia instead of Lightning McQueen!
The good news is that your upcoming 4-night voyage
aboard the Disney Destiny gives you a great backup option. For U.S. citizens
sailing on a closed-loop cruise (one that begins and ends at the same U.S. port), Disney currently accepts an original state-issued birth certificate (no photocopies) along with a physical government-issued photo ID for guests ages 16 and older in place of a passport. Digital IDs are not accepted. If you're traveling with children who are 15 years old or younger, they only need their original state-issued birth certificate and do not need to present a photo ID.
