Hi Anthena,
Your question is very similar to a question recently answered by several "Moms" on the Walt Disney World Moms Panel. You can see all of the advice
here.
The first step is to determine when to go. Generally speaking, the crowds are smallest when children are typically in school. However, that may not be best for your family. If you've never been to Florida before, you should know that it can be very hot and humid in the summer. My favorite time to go is the first two weeks of December. The holiday decorations at the theme parks and the resorts are fabulous!
After you know when you would like to go, you should select a resort. Walt Disney World has resort hotels for various budget levels. You can get information on the various resorts
here.
My last tip is to be sure to make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs). ADRs can be made up to 180 days in advance. A lot of first time guests make the mistake of not making ADRs and then trying to walk up to Table Service (full service) restaurants. In my opinion, it's become harder and harder to do that, especially during the busier times of the year.
Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
