Hi. This will be my family's first time at Walt Disney World. I'm extremely overwhelmed in trying to plan this vacation. We will be going 3/30-4/4.. My kids are 15 (boy) and 4 & 5 (girls). Can anyone offer any advice to help plan? Thanks!

Hello Melinda!  I know planning a Walt Disney World vacation for the first time seems overwhelming, take a deep breath and know everything will turn out great!

If you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort, I highly encourage you to take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours.  Extra Magic Hours are a perk to guests staying on Walt Disney World property.  Each day a certain park will open early or stay open late for you to enjoy.  Because the park is only open to select guests, some of the most popular attractions have a much shorter wait time!  Sometimes we are able to ride our favorite rides 2 and 3 times before the line starts to fill up!  It is a great perk for guests and is something to consider when planing out your days at Walt Disney World.

Since this is your first time visiting Walt Disney World, I suggest picking out your top 5-8 must do's at each park and do those first.  You never know if by midday your girls might need to go back to the room for nap or everyone might want to go for a swim.  If you do your must do's first and decide to leave for a few hours, you wont be disappointed that you missed something.

Make sure to take advantage of the new FastPass+ system.  You can reserve your FastPass+ reservations from your computer or mobile device through My Disney Experience.  You can select up to 3 FastPass+ reservations for certain attractions at each Walt Disney World Theme Park.  This is a great way to ride some of the most popular attractions at Walt Disney World with minimal to no wait time!

I would love to help you more in planning your Walt Disney World vacation.  Feel free to ask me another questions and be sure to include more details like where you are staying and what parks you will be visiting.

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
