    This will be my family's first time traveling to WDW we are looking at going Nov 14-21 2013. What advice do you have on where to start planning, also when does WDW usually put up the Christmas lights/ decorations?

    Hi Tanisha!

    You've picked a fabulous time of year to visit Walt Disney World for the first time! I can't think of a more magical time than as the holiday season approaches! No one decorates for Christmas quite the way Disney does ... and you're in for quite a treat!

    For starters, you'll want to get your Magic Your Way Vacation Package booked. You can do so online through the Walt Disney World website or by calling (407) 939-7675. A $200 deposit is usually all that's required to secure YOUR family's most fabulous vacation ever! Your full balance will be due 45 days prior to arrival, and you can budget to make payments as frequently as you wish between now and then.

    Once your resort is reserved, Dining Reservations are a must! You can begin making dining reservations online or by phoning (407) WDW-DINE as soon as your vacation is just 180 days away - which in your case would be May 18, 2013.

    If you'd like some tips and recommendations to start choosing the resort and dining reservations that are right for you, please feel free to write me back and I'd be happy to assist you further. Let me know a little bit about the make up of your family (are you traveling with little princes or princesses?) and what you hope to enjoy during your time at Walt Disney World.

    As far as the Christmas décor goes, it literally begins making an appearance pretty well right after Hallowe'en comes and goes! The spectacular lights which adorn Cinderella Castle take quite some time to put up - so work begins in early September on those! By the time of your arrival, the parks and resorts will be fully decked out in their holiday best!
