This will be my family’s first time to Disney World and it is so overwhelming, all the choices to make, I do not know where to begin. I have three kids two teen age boys 19 and 14 and a girl who is 9. Please help. Thank you
Hi Lizy!
The first step is to determine when you would like to go and how long you would like to stay. Then decide where you would like to stay. After that you can determine which parks you will visit on which day. You can see some more thoughts on planning a first trip
here.
I recommend ordering the free
planning DVD and watching it with your children to see what looks the most interesting to them. I also recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal. It has won eight national awards and is loaded with pictures from Walt Disney World. It's a great book for first timers.
If your children are into thrill rides, be sure to do Expedition Everest in Disney's Animal Kingdom and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith in Disney's Hollywood Studios. However, all of the parks have great attractions for the entire family. My children are also big fans of Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, the water parks at Walt Disney World.
Finally, a mistake that many first timers make is not making advanced dining reservations. You should make a reservation for every Table Service restaurant you are interested in dining in. Reservations can be made up to 180 days in advance at (407) WDW-DINE or online.
Hopefully this will get you started and please write back if you have any more questions!
