Hi Janie! I know it seems to be a daunting task to plan a Disney trip but it just takes a bit of organization and you will see how easy it can be.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great choice for a resort and you will enjoy your stay. My best advice is to plan out your days in the parks. You can look at the park calendars to decide what park on what day.....check for extra magic hours if you want to take advantage of those. Then select some dining for each day. I like to have at least one table service reservation a day so we are "forced" to sit and take a break from the hectic park pace. Review the park
dining options and decide if one of those will fit your culinary interest. If not then look to nearby resorts for some more great choices. You can make dining reservations 180 days out from your trip and I highly suggest you do this so you are not disappointed. 407-939-3463
The parks and resorts also have some great restaurants that might be quick or counter service and you can fill in some mealtimes with those. You can also review these at
www.disneyworld.com.
Be sure and pick at least one character dining location as your children will enjoy that experience. Please know that these fill quickly so get the reservations as soon as possible. My favorite is Chef Mickey at the Contemporary resort. This is where you can meet and greet most of the main fabulous Disney characters we all know and love. Plus it is easy to add to a day when you are in the Magic Kingdom since it is a short 8 minute walk from the park.
Be sure and ask the panel more questions as you plan for your wonderful vacation. We are here to help pave the way!
