Family of 5, 11 yrs & up. I want to stay @ FW Cabins, so we can cook some meals & it looks more spacious than resort rooms. However, I have saw more than one post about transportation issues from the Cabins. Can you advise?

    Hello, Angela!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! We are delighted to help answer your question regarding your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation!

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and are my most favorite place to stay at Walt Disney World!!  In fact, my family has stayed there our last three vacations. The full kitchen is SO nice, and the newly-renovated cabins are very spacious!

Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Campgrounds is a very large property, so there is an internal bus system that will transport you from your cabin to different places like Settlement Depot (marina area), Outpost Depot (Guest Check-in area), or Meadow Swimmin' Pool. While there are buses that run throughout the property, you do, at times, have to wait for the internal bus and then wait for the bus or boat to take you to the Disney Theme Parks.

Like you, my family was concerned about waiting so long for buses. That is when a Cast Member told us about renting a golf cart you can use to transport your family through the whole property! With your own golf cart, there is no waiting for any internal bus! We also loved the ease of running up to Meadow Trading Post to grab a snack. My kids love the golf carts so much, they will spend hours just exploring the whole property. I promise you the extra expense is worth every penny!

    Have a MAGICAL day!
