HI! My family of a 18 yr old, 6 yr old,my birthday child of 16 and mother will be attending WDW. What are come exciting places to celebrate her 16th b'day and a family orientated restuarant as well?

    Kimberly:

What a great year to celebrate a 16th birthday!

And to celebrate, I would lean to a restaurant that isn't childish OR stuffy: California Grill. The view of the skyline of the WDW campus sweeps you away, and any table in the restaurant--especially at dusk--adds birthday pixie dust. The menu's upscale but familiar and not over-the-top, and there is a children's menu, although a little pricier than what you may be used to at other WDW restaurants. (Check out the menu at www.allears.net under Dining/Resort Hotels/Contemporary.)

Top off the dinner with a special Mickey cake by calling: (407) 827-2253. You'd probably spend less on the cake than everyone ordering their own separate dessert.... After dinner step outside for the finale: a viewing deck for restaurant patrons that makes you feel like you are on top of the world!

Disney has some other spectacular ideas for customizing your birthday celebration on its website. Here's the link. From ordering a special cake at dinner to having Mickey welcome the family with a room celebration, its worth the time to look at what they have to offer.

And don't forget to register the birthday child at: www.disneyworld.com.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
