Hi Rebbeca and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I vividly remember when my daughter first rode
The Barnstormer! She was so happy and excited getting off the coaster…and begged to go again. That smile on her face is one of my favorite magical memories.
The rule at Walt Disney World is that children under age 7 must ride with someone 14 or older, and Guests must be over age 7 to ride alone. My youngest cannot WAIT for the day he can ride with his sister. The two of them are always coming up with schemes to convince Cast Members that they’re mature and responsible, but at the end of the day, it’s all about safety, and I'm glad Disney takes that seriously and has these rules in place. The Barnstormer is surprisingly fast!
Rebbeca, if your family of five doesn’t break down in a way that works for this attraction, you should approach a Cast Member and ask to utilize
Rider Switch service, which will allow everyone who wants to ride a chance to ride. Also, feel free to ask a Cast Member what possible configurations might work for your family so you can all ride together – ultimately, it’s at their discretion, and they know the ride and the rules best. They want you to have an amazing time and to be safe, and I know they'll work with you to accomplish both.
After your son’s first ride, I hope you’ll head over to Storybook Circus to meet The Great Goofini himself, along with his other pals, at Pete’s Silly Sideshow. You could get some great pictures to commemorate the big day – any then maybe stop by Big Top Treats to celebrate with something sweet. Now that’s what I call the best day ever!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
