Hi! My family was wondering if there are any new experiences coming/in the works that we can expect for a Disney vacation in 2024? Thanks!

    Hiya Alex!

Welcome to planDisney! My family just made our reservations for our 2024 trip and we are excited. Walt Disney once said "Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world." This same thought applies to Walt Disney World which is constantly being reimagined and worthy of visits year after year.

One of the biggest updates for 2024 that I am very excited about is the opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure. Splash Mountain is being reimagined to honor the amazing Princess Tiana and her story from "The Princess and The Frog." My husband loved Splash Mountain and while I do have a fear of that big drop I know that I will be checking out this ride as soon as it opens. It is not clear yet if there is an exact date but it is anticipated to be in late 2024.

It was also announced that next year some changes to policies and guest offerings are happening. January 9, 2024, has been deemed the day Theme Park Reservations end for all date-based tickets. This is great news as guests can now be more flexible with changing the Park they want to visit as the date approaches.

One of the things I am most excited about is the return of the Disney Dining Plan. Anyone staying at Disney Resort Hotel on or after January 9, 2024, can purchase a Disney Dining Plan. It allows you to prepay your meals before you arrive and due to the rich tastes of some of my family members it has been a good value for us. My husband finds steak irresistible and my brother can eat a lot. Find what works for your family when deciding if you want to add it to your Resort Reservation.

Now, it may be appearing until late this year but I'm counting this towards 2024 as many won't get to see it till then but Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana will be a lovely addition to EPCOT. It's an interactive trail and water feature which will be perfect for a hot day.

I'm hoping construction will be completed in 2024 but a new DVC Tower will be opening at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. When it opens it will be so beautiful and perfectly situated right near Magic Kingdom Park. I am seriously considering DVC membership if I can make this my home Resort.

I have to note that these updates are what Disney has announced so far for 2024. We still have half of 2023 to finish and I bet even more news will be coming out for next year. All the latest news and updates are posted on the Disney Parks Blog so make sure to check it out!

I hope this helps and that you have a wonderful time next year! If you have any more questions or want any suggestions or tips please feel free to let us know!

    Happy Planning!

Meet the Panelist: Nimmy, New York

Hey, it's Nimmy from New York! Just like my guy Jiminy Cricket I am your wisecracking and helpful guide to making the best decisions for your Disney vacation! My husband and I work very hard to journey to our favorite place on Earth, Walt Disney World Resort, as much as we can. We have traveled as just adults, with babies, kids, teenagers, and senior citizens. We have seen so many characters, eaten at amazing places, and consumed a ton of Dole Whips. So "give a little whistle" and let me be your guide! Learn More About Nimmy
