Logan from MD Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I have a family of 4 and was wondering if my family has to purchase genie plus passes separately or can I purchase them myself if they are on my family and friends list? Second question:Can I scan my AAA Disney tickets in the app?

    Hi Logan!

It's always great to welcome a fellow Marylander here to planDisney - thanks for stopping by!  In just a few short months, your family will be enjoying enchanting entertainment, thrilling rides, and making magical memories.  As Princess Tiana would say, you're "almost there!"

Logan, it sounds like you have already downloaded the My Disney Experience Mobile App - a great first step in organizing your vacation plans!  If you haven't already done so, I would recommend starting by creating profiles for each member of your family.  You can do this by finding your Family & Friends List (found under "My Profile") and then selecting "Add a Guest."  If you are traveling with other adults, they will want to create their own accounts (if they don't already have them).  To link with other adults, you can easily scan the QR linking code found in their mobile app.  If you are creating accounts for children, you can select "I'll add their name and age" and enter the requested information.  You can then share the management of the accounts for any children with other adults in your group.

Once everyone is linked in My Disney Experience, you can add your tickets by selecting "Tickets and Passes" and then "Link Tickets & Passes."  From AAA, you should have received ID/confirmation numbers for each of the tickets you purchased. When you click "Type ID" on the top right of that menu screen in the app, there is a box to enter your Admission Media ID number.  Once you enter the ticket, you'll be able to assign the ticket to your linked Family & Friends.  If you run into any technical difficulties with this process, you can always call Existing Tickets for help from a friendly Cast Member!

When your vacation arrives and you're ready to start purchasing Disney Genie+ service each day, you'll be happy to know that you will be able to make those purchases for your linked Family & Friends as well.  I typically take care of this for my family each morning around 6:30 AM so that I'm ready to book our first Lightning Lane selections right at 7:00 AM!  You'll be able to continue making Lightning Lane entrance selections, purchase Individual Lightning Lanes, and much more throughout the day with anyone that you have linked with on the My Disney Experience Mobile App.  If you don't see the ability to purchase Genie+ and make Lightning Lane selections, please double-check the viewing permissions on the accounts to make sure you can't just view their plans, but also make plans for them.

Logan, to access your tickets, tap into Lightning Lane entrances, unlock hotel doors, charge purchases to your Disney account, and utilize other services, you'll also want to make sure each member of your party has a MagicBand+ or that you have set up MagicMobile Passes on your mobile device.

I hope this is helpful as you continue to plan for your upcoming vacation!  Please stop by and see me or any of my panelist pals again here at planDisney - we're all ears!
