When my family went to Disney World several years ago they talked to a planner (someone that worked at Disney) and they helped them set up dinner reservations etc. Do you still have a service like this?

Hi there, Julie, and welcome to planDisney!

I'm so glad that you came to us with your question and I'd be happy to help you out. It sounds like your family had a magical time over at Walt Disney World! First of all, we here at planDisney are Guests just like you. We may be a little more informed than your average Guest, but we are not vacation planners and cannot make reservations on your behalf. We happily make recommendations based on our experiences, however.

A fellow planDisney panelist pal of mine, Amy C, likes to say that Walt Disney World and the Disneyland Resort are more like cousins, not twins. So you might not find the identical offerings and services that you found at the opposite coast. Disney does not offer an overall planning service for Guests who visit the Resort. Nevertheless, I looked into some options for you and here's what I found:

    • Perform an Internet search for an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner. These are third party travel agencies that specialize in Disney vacations and will help you plan everything, including making those all important dining reservations. The best part is that they charge nothing extra and work on commission, so your vacation would cost the same.
    • Book a Disneyland Resort VIP Tour. You would get your very own personal tour guide who would assist with dining reservations and you'd get front of the line access to attractions and a personal itinerary designed just for you.
    • I spoke to a Cast Member at the Disneyland Hotel who stated that a Personal Itinerary Assistant is assigned to you if you book one of their Signature Suites

The latter two options are not the most budget friendly but they would be fantastic experiences! You'll be visiting during peak Summer season, so I'd recommend adding the phenomenal cosmic power of Genie+ to your tickets if you haven't already. You'll also be arriving just after the premiere of "Rogers: The Musical" at Disney California Adventure! It's a limited time engagement, so be sure to catch the show at the Hyperion Theater and you'll be humming "Save the City" and thinking you could do this all day!

Julie, I hope you found this helpful and that your plans come together for your trip to the Happiest Place on Earth! If you would like more planning advice from planDisney, please feel free to write back to me or any of my pals on the panel! We'd love to help!

    Have a Magical Day!

Meet the Panelist: Al, California

Ahoy there from the heart of Steinbeck Country in central California! I've been visiting the Disneyland Resort since childhood and fell in love with the sense of absolute immersion that the Imagineers have achieved. My favorite attraction is Pirates of the Caribbean because where else can you go from a California day to an evening boat ride in the bayou with "salty old pirates"? I'm a veterinarian and an all-around Disney geek and enthusiast. I'd love to help you plan your next Disneyland trip! Learn More About Al
