My family went to Disney World in 1997 and my grandma purchased a stone. It was suppose to be put in animal kingdom pavilion. I think. I was just wondering where you was exactly. How can I find it without going to the park?

    Hi there, Marcie!

A warm welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question. I'm happy to hear that you were able to visit The Most Magical Place on Earth in the late 1990s, Marcie. I have very fond memories of visiting the Walt Disney World Resort as a child with my own family during that same time period!

The year 1997 was a very exciting time at the Walt Disney World Resort. (Do you recall seeing Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom Park disguised as a giant pink birthday cake during your visit!?) Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park opened the following year and redefined having a wild day at the Walt Disney World Resort! During that time, a program called "Disney's Walk Around the World" was offered and allowed Guests to purchase customized bricks which were displayed near Magic Kingdom Park and the Transportation and Ticket Center until more recent years. My family had our own brick placed near the walkway to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, so I was disappointed when I learned that "Disney's Walk Around the World" bricks were being retired. Marcie, unfortunately, at this time, all of the personalized bricks have been removed.

One way to remember your family's special brick is by purchasing a Commemorative Legacy Paver on shopDisney. These pavers make a great addition to any Disney fan's home or garden! The next time you visit the Walt Disney World Resort, I encourage you to check out Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. There's nothing quite like taking  a morning ride through the Harambe Wildlife Reserve on Kilimanjaro Safaris! During your visit, don't forget to say "hello" to some familiar Disney pals at Adventurers Outpost. (In my opinion, you're never too old for a hug from Mickey Mouse!)

Marcie, I hope that you've found this information helpful. I'm wishing you a magical and memorable next visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any additional planning questions, please feel free to revisit us at planDisney again anytime. We're all ears!

    See ya real soon,
