Hi Joel, and Boo to You! I love how much thought you are giving to your family’s costumes for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party. My family attended the party a few weeks ago, and we had so much fun dreaming up our costumes and taking lots of great pictures around the party.
I checked in with a Cast Member, who said that you are welcome to bring the masks just for photos – just know that you’ll need to only put them on for the photo and take them off immediately after. Also, be prepared that if you’re asked to not wear the masks at any time, you’ll need to comply for security reasons. If anyone in your party is 13 or under, they will be welcome to wear an Incredibles-style mask, as long as their eyes are visible. Disney Parks Blog put together a fun, short
video overview of the costume guidelines, and it’s worth a watch.
Joel, if you’re considering creating a mask from face paint for the party, please learn from my mistake and be sure to get the drying style that won’t drip or run. I bought a black face paint stick to paint my nose for this year’s costume, and it was soooooooooo itchy! Our party night was very hot and humid, and I had black sweat on my fingers every time I tried to scratch or touch my nose.
Since you’re planning to stop for lots of photos, be sure to take a look at the list of party-exclusive
Magic Shot locations around Magic Kingdom Park. My family took one in front of The Haunted Mansion that makes my heart so, so happy.
Happy haunting at the party!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
