Family going to WDW Xmas 2012,4 adults, 1 4-yr old and 1 1/4 yr old triplets. Want family to stay together in villa type with kitchen and 2 bedrooms, pref. near MK. What do you suggest for this type of situation.

    Hi Barbara!

Sounds like you would like to stay in a Disney Deluxe Villa!  The closest Disney Deluxe Villa to the Magic Kingdom is Bay Lake Tower, followed by the Villas at Wilderness Lodge.  Bay Lake Tower is on the monorail line (via a bridge) at the Contemporary Resort; you can also just walk to the Magic Kingdom in less than 10 minute.  There's no other resort within walking distance of a theme park at Walt Disney World.

The Villas at Wilderness Lodge is on Bay Lake.  There's a boat that runs between the Wilderness Lodge and the Magic Kingdom.  It's a very relaxing and fun way to go back and forth.  The Wilderness Lodge is actually my absolute favorite resort at Walt Disney World.  I love the theming of the resort; it also has a great family restaurant:  Whispering Canyon Cafe.

If your budget doesn't allow staying in a Disney Deluxe Villa, I suggest looking at a rental vacation home outside of Walt Disney World.  Just keep in mind that you won't have access to Extra Magic Hours and that you will need a car to get to and from Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
