My family and I will in WDW the week of Thanksgiving. My husband and I will be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary on 11/26 as well. What are the opening and closing times of the parks? Any suggestions on how to make our anniversary special at WDW?

    Hi Donna,

Thanksgiving is a beautiful week at Walt Disney World, and it's always a perfect place for a celebration. You will find the most up-to-date schedules on the calendar pages of the Disney website.

Right now, the schedule shows that Magic Kingdom will be open from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., Epcot 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., plus assorted Extra Magic Hours.  Those hours may expand as the week nears. Last year on Thanksgiving week when my family visited, Magic Kingdom was open until at least midnight every night. So check back regularly for updates!

My husband and I have celebrated many anniversaries at Walt Disney World. Make sure you pick up a free anniversary button at Guest Relations. Wear them throughout your visit so that other guests and cast members can offer their good wishes. You may also get some magical surprises.

I'm not sure if you will have children with you. If so, you might consider treating them to an evening at one of the children's activity centers while you and your husband have a romantic celebratory dinner. I'd suggest making reservations as soon as possible because that is a busy week in the parks and resorts. Among our favorite celebration restaurants are California Grill, Artist Point, Narcoossee's and Flying Fish Cafe.

On one anniversary, we skipped the big dinner and just spent time strolling around Epcot's World Showcase together, picking up fun treats among the countries . On another, we had champagne and dessert at Narcoossee's and watched Wishes from the patio.

You also could take a carriage ride through Fort Wilderness or a fireworks cruise at Magic Kingdom or Epcot. There are so many possibilities!

I'm out of space, but please write back if I can add more. Enjoy!
