My family and I will be in WDW the week of Jan. 17. We currently have reservations at the Brown Derby for the Fantasmic Dining Package on the 20th. I'm wondering if its worth it to have the priority seating for such an expensive meal?

    Hi Kristina,

The Hollywood Brown Derby is one of my favorite signature restaurants at Walt Disney World.  I'm a huge fan of the Cobb Salad and Grapefruit Cake!  The Fantasmic Dining Package is a great way to ensure that your family has seats to the show without having to spend long periods of time waiting.  While the Brown Derby is a wonderful venue to share a fantastic meal, it is by no means the least expensive option for the dining package.  Mama Melrose (wonderful Italian food, including awesome pizza) and Hollywood and Vine ( a fun-filled, buffet-style restaurant that has options to please just about everyone) also offer Fantasmic Packages, and are less expensive.  Perhaps one of these two locations would be a better option for your family.

After the holidays, the crowds tend to thin significantly at the parks, so if you opted to just attend Fantasmic without the dinner package, you could absolutely do so.  When my family decides to see the show, we come early, grab a snack and wait in line while enjoying and planning our next day at Disney!

    Have a magical trip!
