Hello! Family is going to WDW in 1 week with DD5 years old and DD14 months. Our plans are to visit WDW and Blizzard Beach. Would you recommend the water park even if both are under 48 inches and DD14m cannot walk. Would you pick a different park?

Your trip is fast approaching, Cassandra.  I bet the excitement is tough to contain right about now!  As for your itinerary, when you say you're going to visit WDW and Blizzard Beach, do you mean to say all four of the theme parks at Walt Disney World, or the Magic Kingdom?  If you only plan to visit Magic Kingdom, I would consider expanding that list and maybe choosing an additional theme park or two to visit.  The water parks are great fun, but my personal preference would be to prioritize the theme parks and save the water parks for a down day or maybe a future trip.

In comparing the two water parks, I would say that Blizzard Beach's Tike's Peak is more expansive and enjoyable for little ones than the comparable kids area at Typhoon Lagoon.  On the other hand, Typhoon Lagoon offers more sand for children to dig and play in.  If it were me, I would base my decision on whether I thought my children would more enjoy water or sand play.  Have a great time!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
