When our family was in WDW in October 2008, we took a special boat cruise from the Contemporary that went through Bay Lake and stopped so that we could watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks. Are those cruises still offered? How do we schedule it? Thank you!

    Monica:

Sounds like you experienced a Fireworks Cruise!  There are are so many Specialty Cruises at Disney, I'd recommend calling 407-939-7529 and giving them your dates, your party size and seeing what they can cook up for you!  When I looked into them, the cost started about $275 plus tax.

You might be interested to know that since your last visit, there are now cruises that you can enjoy where you simply buy an individual seat, rather than booking the entire boat. One such cruise is Disney's Pirates & Pals Voyage, which may be more affordable if there are only a few in your party (and certainly more fun if you've got young boys in your family!)  I don't know what part we liked the most when we went last November, the sugar fest before the cruise where we ate as much cotton candy, trail mix and other goodies as our dentist would allow or meeting Peter Pan after the cruise. (Personally, I cried at how spectacular the fireworks were from the vantage point of the water....it was beautiful).  When we go again in the fall, we plan a repeat!

    Wishing y'all magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
