My family will be going to wdw in October of 2009. I am not sure which resort would be the best/easiest to stay at. I am wanting to stay close enough so that we may be able to see the fireworks, and also not need to drive to the parks.

    Abby:

I LOVE Disney World in October!  The pleasant weather and manageable crowds are bringing us back again this fall!

One of the benefits to staying on property is the access to Disney's free transportation.  Regardless of your resort, you'll have buses, boats, or monorail to get you around on the property that is the size of the city of San Francisco!  You can forget about your car for your stay and let someone else do the driving!

If you want to see the fireworks--at Magic Kingdom OR Epcot--each night AND enjoy the ease of the monorail or boat system to the parks, I'd recommend looking at the Magic Kingdom resorts (Polynesian, Contemporary, or Grand Floridan) or the Epcot resorts (Swan & Dolphin, Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach Club).  Make sure you ask for a theme-park view room--and if you want a balcony view vs. a window view of the fireworks, request that also.  (The majority of firework view rooms at Swan & Dolphin do not have balconies.)

Each resort offers so much, I suggest you take a look at these Deluxe resorts on the www.disneyworld.com website under the large heading DISCOVER or just click here.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
