Hi! My family will be in WDW in October celebrating my youngest daughter's 3rd birthday on our last full day. We're planning to try Pirates & Pals that evening, as she is a HUGE fan of Mr. Smee. Will she need a ticket or still be considered 2? Thanks!

    Hi Sarah ~

Disney is a great place to celebrate a 3rd Birthday! Be sure to pick up a "Happy Birthday" button for your daughter at any Guest Relations location.

The Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage is a great place to meet Mr. Smee. Disney does not require proof of age for kids. Guests under the age of 3 on the day of their voyage will not need a ticket. Guests ages 3 - 9 will need to purchase a child's ticket and Guests ages 10 and up will need to purchase an Adult ticket (just as in the parks). Guests under the age of 3 still need to be included in the total number in your reservation.

Pirates & Pals is awesome for little ones sensitive to loud noises. Because you're on the water and not in the Magic Kingdom, you don't get the loud boom that the fireworks make which frightens some small children. You do get the best view of the fireworks and the soundtrack is played on the boat so you don't miss a thing.

Here's another thing I like about it, you can take your stroller on the boat. They have a place on the back to keep your stroller during the voyage. That way, you can use the stroller to get to and from the dock without having to carry your little one.

Typically you're out on the water for about 55 - 60 minutes. You can take snacks for kids if you think you'll need them. You could also take something to keep little ones entertained just in case. Depending on what time of year that you sail, it could get a little chilly on the water so you may want to take a light blanket or jacket. Most kids really enjoy being on a boat and Patch does a great job of entertaining Guests so the time goes by really fast.

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
