Hi, my family and I going to WDW in March. We would like to know what is the best time to see things in the Magic Kingdom where it will be less crowded? Also, what is the weather like in March?

    Hi Ann:

March is generally a great time to visit Walt Disney World.  I'm not sure if your vacation dates are set and you are asking what time during the day is best to visit Magic Kingdom, or if you are choosing when in March to visit.  If your vacation dates are set, I generally advise visiting Magic Kingdom and the other Parks at Park opening when crowds are generally lighter and you can usually take in some popular rides and attractions before more crowds arrive during the day. If you are asking when in March to visit to avoid heavy crowds, spring break crowds start to arrive at Disney World in the middle of March, so your best bet would be to visit as early in March as possible as Disney World tends to get more crowded when schools are not in session.

The weather at Disney World in March usually hovers in the high-70's and often breaks into the 80's during the day, but can dip into the '50s at night or during unexpected cold snaps. Tee shirts and shorts are likely fine in the day, but it's possible long sleeves and long pants may be needed at night. The good news is that Disney's Resort and Waterpark pools are heated all year long, so you'll probably be able to take in a few swims. There is relatively little precipitation, however, since it is Florida, rain can happen at any moment.

Aside from layers of clothing, remember to pack comfortable shoes, sunscreen, a small backpack, purse, or tote, sunglasses, bathing suits, identification, chargers for your phone or other electronics, and an extra bag to transport your souvenirs home.

    Enjoy your vacation.
