My family will be going to WDW in March. My daughters will be 12 and 9 when we go. I want to enjoy a sit down meal....can anyone give me any ideas of good places?

    Melissa:

Honestly, if you closed your eyes and picked a restaurant at Disney, you'd have a 95% chance of having a good experience....For your girls, a few thoughts:

    • If they're still into princesses, Akershus has a myriad of them from Belle to Snow White; 1900 Park Fare features not just Cinderella but also Prince Charming, but the scene-stealers are the wicked stepsisters; and Cinderella's Royal Table features Cinderella at breakfast and the fairy god-mother at lunch and dinner while Cinderella poses for pictures in the lobby.
    • If you think they've outgrown princesses, although it's hard to imagine, I don't know anyone too old for Mickey and the gang.  Go to Chef Mickey's for its latest brunch seating after you check out the Magic Kingdom for Early Magic Hours OR go for an early dinner BEFORE late Magic Hours.
    • Want to create a memory? Get a dusk seating at California Grill atop the Contemporary with its amazing views of the Disney campus.  They have a kid's menu and more sophisticated offerings for your 12-year-old who may be going on 16....or treat them to Les Chefs de France after you've tested all the parfums next door in France's shopping district.
    • Got animal lovers?  Animatronic dinosaurs star at T-Rex; elephants and gorillas perform at Rainforest Cafe; but if you want to view LIVE giraffes, anteaters, ostriches and a zebra or two, head to Sanaa and ask for a window table.  The food's a bit adventurous, but the waiters are patient and have a good grasp of the menu.
    • Just family fun? Our family enjoys the limbo at Ohana, the floor-show at Biergarten, and the chef's performance at Teppan Edo.
    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
