My family and I have been to WDW and love it! Now we would love to experience a Disney Cruise. We have a family of 5 and things really add up with that many. Which cruise is the most affordable? And is there a particular time of year that is the cheapest?

    Hi, Bonnie!

I completely understand your plight. We have four kids, and it's a challenge sometimes to find a vacation experience in which we want to invest our time, efforts and money. Yet, I can honestly say that we've never regretted taking a Disney cruise with our family.

The best advice I can give you as far as finding a more affordable cruise is to book as far in advance as possible. In addition, you can look online for special offers on DisneyCruise.com as well as check with your local travel agent. For instance, there are limited discounted rates available right now on select Alaskan cruises and Mediterranean cruises.

As a general rule, you'll find less expensive fares on the original ships (Disney Magic and Disney Wonder), during the fall and on more familiar itineraries (Caribbean and Bahamas). Plus, shorter itineraries, of course, will be less than longer ones.

Our first cruise as a family was a three-night voyage combined with a few days at Walt Disney World, and it left us convinced that our resources are well spent with Disney. We can depend on the brand to provide us with quality and consistency when making our vacation decisions. I hope your experience even goes beyond what we've had. Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
